Every price on Professional Swimwear comes from the retailers’ own product listings, recorded by us each day. This page explains how, so you can judge how far to trust a number.
Daily feeds
Once a day we read product data from each retailer we track: price, stock status and the product link. We save what we find, so every model builds up a history of prices on the days we recorded it. If a retailer’s data fails to load, or comes back empty or partial, we treat that as a failure and keep yesterday’s record rather than guess.
One page per model
A model is one product, such as a particular goggle or training suit. It gets one page, however many colours and sizes it comes in. We match listings from different retailers to the same model by brand and model name, and we do not merge products that only look similar: a junior suit is not matched to an adult one, and version 2.0 is not matched to version 3.0.
Live colours only
The colour options on a model page are the ones a retailer currently lists as available. We do not link to colours that have gone from a retailer’s site. Where we cannot confirm a retailer’s listing is still live, we leave it off.
“Lowest we’ve tracked”
We use careful wording for price claims.
- Lowest we’ve tracked means the lowest in-stock price in our own records for that model. Our records only go back to when we started tracking it, so it says nothing about prices before that date.
- A price drop means today’s lowest price is lower than the highest price we ourselves tracked for the same model, and we have at least two days of history for it. We show the date of that earlier price.
- We do not use retailers’ “was” or “RRP” prices to work out a discount. Those are not our data.
What to keep in mind
- Prices are in Australian dollars and can change at the retailer between our daily checks. Always check the final price before you buy.
- Delivery costs and membership offers are set by the retailer and are not included.
- We track the retailers we have data for. A retailer missing from a comparison does not mean it is more expensive.
